David Tate has a diverse work experience in the engineering industry. David started their career in 1990 as a Structural Draftsman at Kvaerner International Ltd. David then worked as a Structural Engineer at kvaerner oil&gas from 1995 to 2000. David joined Continental Conveyor Ltd. in 1999 as a Structural Engineer before moving to Heerema Fabrication Group in 2004 as a Lead Structural Engineer. In 2001, they joined K Home International as a Senior Structural Engineer and held this role until 2009. Currently, they are the Head of Engineering at MPI Offshore, a position they have held since August 2009.

David Tate attended Teesside University from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. David then enrolled at the University of Surrey in 2004 and completed a Post Grad Diploma in Structural Engineering, concluding their education in 2008.
