James Mathies is a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Mozilla, where James has been employed since January 2017. In the current role, Mathies leads the Graphics Team, focusing on the implementation of a Rust-based graphics pipeline. Previously, James managed the Sandbox and Hardening Security Team, overseeing a range of security initiatives. Mathies began their career at Mozilla as a Senior Software Engineer from 2007 to 2016 before transitioning to management. Prior to their time at Mozilla, Mathies worked at VERISIGN in Software Research Development from 2002 to 2007. James Mathies holds a degree from Florida State University.
