Manufacturing Engineer, Packaging And Assembly Lead at Motiv Space Systems, Inc.

Brendan Mangano began their work experience in 2014 as the WREC Climbing Gym Manager for Associated Students CSUC, where they were responsible for delegating and leading a team of 10+ student workers, scheduling and event planning, and maintaining the CSUC climbing gym. In 2015, they transitioned to Chico Phone Repair as a Mobile Device Repair Technician, specializing in repairing mobile devices. In 2017, Brendan joined beetstech as a Repair Specialist, focusing on repair services. Later that year, they also started working at Motiv Space Systems, Inc. as an Engineering Technician. In 2018, they were promoted to an Electro-Mechanical Flight Technician role at Motiv Space Systems, and in 2022, they became the Lead Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician, where they are currently employed.

Brendan Mangano earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from California State University, Chico, where they studied from 2010 to 2015. In addition to their degree, they obtained several certifications related to soldering and assembly, including J-STD-001 Mod:6 Soldering for Space Flight Applications from IPC-Association Connecting Electronics Industries in March 2018 and NASA JPL Polymerics Applications on Electronic Assemblies 8739.1 from NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in March 2018. Brendan also received certifications in other areas such as mechanical hardware assembly, connector mate/demate, crimping, cable and harness, and soldering instruction. In addition, Brendan holds a Professional Climbing Instructors Association certification as a professional climbing wall instructor.
