Brian Pettigrew has a diverse work experience in the construction industry. Brian currently serves as the Sector Director for Housing at Morris & Spottiswood, where they oversee the delivery of Affordable Housing and Private Housing across the UK. Before that, they owned and directed Transition Construction Services Ltd, a construction and residential consultancy service. Brian also served as an Advisory Board Member at Business in the Community. Prior to their current roles, Brian worked as the Regional Managing Director at ENGIE UK & Ireland, where they led the Scottish Regional Business in delivering New Build Affordable Housing and Regeneration Projects. Brian also held various positions at Robertson Group, including Group Operations Director and Project Director. Earlier in their career, they worked at Ashleigh (Scotland) Limited, ROK (Building) Ltd, Thomson (of Ayr) Construction Ltd, and Dawn Construction in different managerial roles.
Brian Pettigrew completed their education with a focus on construction management and carpentry & joinery. Brian first attended Belmont Academy in Ayr from 1981 to 1985, without pursuing a specific degree or field of study. Later, they enrolled at Ayr College, where they obtained a City & Guilds certification in Carpentry & Joinery from 1985 to 1989. Following this, they furthered their education at Ayr College and received an Advanced Craft City & Guilds certification in the same field from 1989 to 1990. Brian then pursued a degree in Construction Management at Glasgow College of Building & Printing from 2000 to 2002, where they earned an HNC in Construction Management. Lastly, they completed their education by earning NVQ Level 6 and NVQ Level 7 degrees in Construction Management from JB Management in 2009-2010 and 2011-2012, respectively.
