Paul Mortensen serves as the Chief and Senior Urban Designer within the Director's Office at the Montgomery County Planning Department, a role held since June 2014. In addition to this position, Paul Mortensen has been an Adjunct Professor and Lecturer at the University of Maryland, College Park, since August 2010, where responsibilities include coordinating design studios and providing critique for undergraduate and graduate projects. As Principal of Paul Mortensen Architect + Urban Designer since April 2009, notable work includes the Molleur Residence and consulting for urban design in Riverdale Park, Maryland. Previous experience includes roles as Associate Principal at Torti Gallas and Partners, Inc., and Associate at Moule and Polyzoides Architects and Urbanists, with a foundation in urban design and architecture established through earlier positions and education, including a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Cornell University.
