Michael McGovern is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in IT strategy, enterprise architecture, and software development. Currently serving as the Chief Information Officer at Monroe College since September 2020, McGovern previously held the position of GVP, Chief Technologist at Gartner from April 2005 to February 2020, where responsibilities included leading various technology initiatives and fostering collaboration across the organization. Earlier roles include Director of Application Development at META Group, Inc., where McGovern successfully transitioned the company's website to an open-source platform, and Software Engineer at Telcordia Technologies, focused on developing high-quality software solutions. McGovern holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, with minors in Physics and Math, from the University at Albany.
