Brian Noel

Principal Power Engineer at Monolith

Brian Noel has extensive work experience in the engineering field. Brian currently holds the position of Principal Power Engineer at Monolith, where they serve as a subject matter expert for the world's largest DC plasma torch and power supply. Brian also leads a task force responsible for ensuring reliable operation of critical equipment and successfully improved equipment reliability within one year.

Prior to their current role, Brian worked as a Principal and Owner at E Squared Consulting, LLC, where they offered consulting services in system architecture, troubleshooting, and equipment evaluation. Brian also specialized in high voltage and high current systems, power conversion systems, and data acquisition.

Brian was responsible for implementing a systems engineering framework, overseeing product development, and designing electrical systems for battery systems in various markets.

Earlier in their career, Brian served as a Lead Electrical Engineer at Monolith Materials, where they managed all electrical engineering for a chemical manufacturing start-up. Brian was also a part of the Primus Power Corporation as an Electrical Engineer, Systems, and EPRI as a Senior Project Engineer/Scientist.

Prior to that, Brian worked at MPR Associates, Inc. as a Senior Engineer in the nuclear power industry. Brian'snotable achievements include modeling and simulating diesel generators, designing circuits and optical systems for medical and consumer devices, and managing a $4M generator excitation system replacement project.

Brian's work experience also includes producing public interest shows at WRCT - Radio Carnegie Tech, where they were responsible for setting up and tearing down studio equipment, overseeing audio mixing, and coordinating musical selections.

Throughout their career, Brian has demonstrated expertise in various engineering domains and a track record of improving equipment reliability, implementing systems engineering frameworks, and leading projects.

Brian Noel has a Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, which they obtained between the years 2006 and 2008. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating in 2006 as well. Brian also pursued a program in Electrical Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University, although the specific years and completion status are not provided. Additionally, Brian obtained a Professional Engineer (PE) certification from NCEES in June 2013.
