Yap Hock Toh has worked in the software engineering industry since 2012. In that year, they began as a Software Trainee at Data Collection Systems (Japan) Co., Ltd. where they developed inventory systems and customized software for customers. yap then moved to Grass Valley, a Belden Brand in 2013 as a Software Engineer, where they debugged and fixed customer's issues, and gained domain knowledge in the broadcasting industry. In 2015, they joined SEEK as a Software Engineer. In 2018, they moved to Photobook Worldwide as a Software Engineer. In 2019, they joined Juice Technologies as an Intermediate Software Engineer, where they were involved in building systems for logistics usage, building front end features using React Js, implementing backend logic using NodeJs and Graphql with Prisma framework, and maintaining and enhancing system features. Most recently, in 2021, they joined MoneyMatch as a Frontend Tech Lead.

Yap Hock Toh attended Universiti Teknologi Malaysia from 2009 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor Degree of Software Engineering in the field of Computer Science. yap graduated in May 2013.
