Elizabeth Underwood is currently the Director at Monarch. Elizabeth has over seven years of experience in the financial industry. Elizabeth started their career as a Fund Accountant at Citco Fund Services and then moved to Monarch as the Finance Budget Director. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing budgets for assigned geographical areas across North Carolina. Elizabeth also reviewed budgets for cost effectiveness, developed plans for new budgets, and processed annual budget plans for existing budgets.

In September 2015, Elizabeth left Monarch to join Duke Energy Corporation as a Financial Analyst II. In this role, they were responsible for maintaining the financial reporting system and ensuring all general ledger balances and necessary reports were generated in a timely manner. Elizabeth also supervised accounts payable and accounts receivables for the company.

In March 2018, Elizabeth was promoted to Senior Financial Analyst at Duke Energy Corporation. In this role, they continued to maintain the financial reporting system and supervise accounts payable and accounts receivables. Elizabeth also managed purchase orders to track agency spending for assigned service areas.

Elizabeth has a proven track record in the financial industry. Elizabeth is a strong leader with experience in developing and implementing budgets, managing finances, and supervising accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Elizabeth began their educational career at West Stanly High School. Elizabeth then attended Wingate University, where they obtained their BS in mathematics, accounting, and biology. Elizabeth then attended Wingate University again to obtain their Master of Accounting. Elizabeth is also certified by the NC CPA Board as a Certified Public Accountant and by the National Council for Behavioral Health as a Mental Health First Aid.
