Ted Calvin

VP Engineering at Monarch Energy

Ted Calvin has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries. Ted began their career in 1998 as an Engineer at Luminex Corporation, where they focused on developing prototype laboratory instruments and improving commercially released instruments. In 2006, they worked as a Research Analyst at Element Markets, where they developed biogas and landfill gas capture projects to create a supply of renewable energy credits and greenhouse gas emissions reductions credits. From 2008 to 2011, they served as an Asset Development Manager at Integrys Energy Services, where they originated investment opportunities in renewable energy and managed a portfolio of operating assets. From 2011 to 2015, they worked at Trillium CNG as the Vice President of Manufacturing, overseeing the manufacturing division, supply chain, and product development. Ted then worked as a Principal at an Engineering Consultant firm from 2015 to 2017, providing consulting services on engineering design, new venture strategy, finance, and business development. In 2017, they became a Member of the Management Board at Charted Scientific, contributing to the development of a next-generation fluorescence imaging platform for the life sciences instrumentation market. Currently, they hold the position of VP Engineering at Monarch Energy, a role that started in September 2022.

Ted Calvin graduated from Rice University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained several qualifications from Coursera in August 2021, including "Databases and SQL for Data Science with Python," "Python for Data Science, AI & Development," "Data Science Methodology," "Python Project for Data Science," and "Tools for Data Science." Additionally, in July 2021, they completed the certification course "What is Data Science?" from Coursera.
