Ed Pestone possesses extensive experience in land protection and geographic information systems (GIS) within environmental conservation. Currently serving as Associate Director of Land Protection & GIS at Mohonk Preserve since May 2015, Ed has held the roles of Land Protection & GIS Manager and Land Projects Manager, focusing on land acquisition and management projects. Previously, Ed worked as a Land & Boundary Steward, conducting boundary inspections and creating baseline documentation reports. Additional internship experiences include the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation as a Bureau of Real Property Intern, where boundary inspections and deed research were performed, and participation in the State Wide Invasive Species Management Team with the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation. Ed began a foundation in environmental science earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry from 2012 to 2014.
