Head Of Global Talent Acquisition at MKS Instruments

Sonya Bird has held various HR roles throughout their career. Sonya started in 2006 at Boston Globe Media as a Photographer and Writer before transitioning into HR roles. From 2009 to 2014, they worked for LL Productions as a Talent Partner. Sonya then joined Maffei Landscape Contractors, where they served as an HR Business Partner & Talent Management from 2014 to 2015. In 2015, they moved to Philips as a Manager, HR Operations - Onboarding and Lean Initiatives until 2018. From 2018 to 2020, Sonya worked at Mercury Systems as the Head of Global HR Operations. Sonya'smost recent position is with MKS Instruments, where they initially served as the Director of Global HR Operations from 2020 to 2021. Sonya then moved on to become the Director of Global Talent Acquisition and is currently the Head of Global Talent Acquisition.

Sonya Bird, MSHRD, SPHR, has a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Human Resources Development from Villanova University. Sonya also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained various certifications including Strategic Talent Acquisition and People Analytics for HR from the Human Capital Institute (HCI). Sonya is also certified in Lean Foundation and Project Management Foundation from Philips. Sonya is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certified by the HR Certification Institute - HRCI. Sonya also holds a certification in Six Sigma Green Belt from Philips. Sonya has a strong educational background in human resources and continues to enhance their skills through certifications.
