Hikaru Osuga has over 20 years of work experience in various roles within Mizuho and its subsidiaries. Hikaru started their career in 1999 as an Assistant in the Customer Relationship Management Division at the Shinjuku Branch of Mizuho. Hikaru then moved on to the Accounting Division in 2000 and later became a Manager/Analyst in the Project Team responsible for listing Mizuho's stock on the NYSE from 2004 to 2008.
In 2010, Hikaru joined Mizuho Financial Group as a Manager in the IFRS Project Team, and later became a Vice President in the Office of the Chairman of the Japanese Bankers Association, Corporate Planning. In 2012, they transitioned to the role of Managing Director, leading the Financial Control function in the Global Corporate Coordination Department at Mizuho.
In 2013, Hikaru moved to Mizuho Bank (USA) as a Senior Vice President/Vice President in the Office of the President, and then joined Mizuho Bank Ltd. in 2015 as a Director/Senior Vice President in the US FBO Regulation Project Team.
Most recently, Hikaru has served as the Managing Director and Head of Financial Control in the Global Corporate Coordination Department at Mizuho since May 2020.
Throughout their career, Hikaru has gained expertise in finance control, project management, regulatory compliance, and corporate planning.
Hikaru Osuga has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Texas McCombs School of Business, which was obtained from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Business/Commerce from Keio University, from 1995 to 1999. Additionally, Hikaru Osuga holds a certification as a Certified Public Accountant from the Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants, obtained in 2002.
