Andreas Tolk

Chief Scientist For Complex Systems Modeling at MITRE

Andreas Tolk is the Chief Scientist for Complex Systems Modeling at MITRE, where expertise in modeling and simulation (M&S) supports various projects and academic collaborations focusing on Complexity and Systems Engineering. Tolk has held multiple leadership roles in professional organizations, including serving as Chair of the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group Simulation (SIGSIM) and as a member of the Society of Modeling and Simulation International's Board of Directors. Previous positions include Chief Scientist at SimIS Inc, senior research roles at ODU Virginia Modeling, Analysis & Simulation Center, and consulting for the US Army. Tolk is an accomplished academic, having been a professor at Old Dominion University and has significant experience in the defense sector, particularly in the German Ministry of Defense. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Bundeswehr University Munich.
