Michael C. Keefe

Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at MISTRAS Group

Michael Keefe has over 27 years of work experience in various legal and executive roles. Michael started their career as an Audit Manager at Horizon Bancorp in 1982. Michael then became an Attorney at Stryker, Tams & Dill before moving on to work as an Attorney at McCarter & English, LLP from 1987 to 1990.

In 1991, Keefe joined AT&T Capital Corporation as Chief Counsel, where they provided legal support for financial transactions and played a significant role in bankruptcy, asset recovery, and finance workouts. Michael also assisted in the public offering of a minority interest in AT&T Capital Corporation.

From 1994 to 1996, Keefe worked as a Senior Attorney at AT&T, specializing in complex domestic and international transactions and contract negotiation. Michael then joined Lucent Technologies as a Corporate Counsel in 1996, where they provided legal support for project finance and corporate financings, as well as mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

Keefe was promoted to Law Vice President at Lucent Technologies in 2002, overseeing the corporate law group and managing various legal matters, including SEC reporting and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and international financing. Michael held this position until 2006.

In 2007, Keefe became the President, General Counsel, and CFO of the International Fight League, a sports entertainment company focused on mixed martial arts. Michael handled SEC reporting and compliance, IP licensing, athlete contracts, television distribution and production agreements, trademark registration, corporate governance, financial reporting, budgeting, and capital markets. Michael eventually transitioned into the role of President to wind down the business and sell its assets.

Keefe then worked as Counsel at the Law Offices of Robert Mark in 2007 before joining Mistras Group, Inc. in 2009. At Mistras, Keefe served as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel, where they implemented the legal function, developed legal compliance programs, and advised management on various legal issues. Michael'skey areas of focus included mergers and acquisitions, securities, corporate governance, labor and employment, compliance, and litigation.

Michael Keefe received their Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Seton Hall University between 1975 and 1979. Michael then pursued a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Seton Hall University School of Law, completing their studies from 1983 to 1987. Later, in 1998, they attended the Executive Development Program at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management to enhance their business knowledge.
