Robert Johnston is currently an advisor at Mirador. Robert has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, having worked at various firms in institutional equity sales, investment banking, and venture capital.
Robert Johnston began their career in the financial industry in 1989 as a vice president at Dain Bosworth. Robert later moved to Hambrecht & Quist in 1994, where they also served as vice president. In 1998, they joined SoundView Technology Group as managing director and head of international sales.
In 2003, Johnston left SoundView to join W R Hambrecht + Co as managing director. Robert was responsible for institutional equity sales covering the New York and Mid-Atlantic regions. Robert was also a member of the firm's investment policy committee. During their time at W R Hambrecht + Co, Johnston participated in the dutch auction ipo process for GOOG, IBKR, CLNE & others.
In 2007, Johnston left W R Hambrecht + Co to join Pacific Crest – KeyBanc Capital Markets as director. Robert was responsible for institutional equity sales covering Europe, New York & Mid-Atlantic. During their time at Pacific Crest – KeyBanc Capital Markets, Johnston worked closely with banking & capital markets to help develop relationships with private & public companies.
In 2015, Johnston left Pacific Crest – KeyBanc Capital Markets to become an advisor at Mirador.
Robert Johnston has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Vermont.
