Tyler is a corporate attorney who supports venture capital investors and the innovative businesses they finance. He enjoys working with clients at the intersection of the law and their business goals, advising them on a combination of financing, operational and licensing matters. Though Tyler’s practice is industry agnostic, his work principally supports investors and businesses operating in the biotechnology, technology and consumer products industries.
Tyler partners with entrepreneurs and academics to provide advice on business formation, technology licensing practices, fundraising transactions and day-to-day operations. He also counsels angel investors, venture capital funds and corporate venture capital arms on their portfolio company investments. Additionally, Tyler helps clients draft a range of commercial contracts such as SaaS agreements, IP option and license agreements, services agreements and name, image and likeness and other branding agreements.
Before practicing law, Tyler worked in the corporate finance and capital markets division of one of the world’s largest investment banks. This experience allows Tyler to uniquely understand clients’ business needs and provide practical advice that drives the bottom line. While attending law school, Tyler was a member of the San Diego Law Review, was an exchange student at the University of Copenhagen, and received multiple merit-based scholarships based on his academic performance and professional achievement before and throughout law school.
Outside of work, Tyler enjoys being frustrated with his golf game and following the daily column of Matt Levine.
