Ava Kian is an experienced journalist specializing in race and health equity, currently serving as a Greater Minnesota Reporter for MinnPost since March 2022. Previous roles include reporting on the St. Paul suburbs for Pioneer Press, working as a Staff Photographer for Minnesota Daily, and serving as a Media Justice Coordinator for CAIR-MN, where advocacy against discrimination was a focus. Kian gained additional experience through various internships, including roles with the American Public Media Group and Minnesota Student Association. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Kian combines a strong background in journalism with a commitment to social justice and community engagement.
