Prisca M. Kizito

Regional Focal Person, Emergency Medical Services, Mbarara at Ministry of Health - Uganda

Prisca M. Kizito is a highly accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in emergency medicine. Currently serving as the Regional Focal Person for Emergency Medical Services at the Ministry of Health in Uganda, Prisca M. Kizito is responsible for coordinating patient referrals, ambulance services, and capacity building for clinicians in the Mbarara Health Region. In addition, Prisca M. Kizito holds the position of Head of Department for Emergency Medicine at Mbarara University of Science and Technology, providing leadership to develop internationally recognized Emergency Physicians and mentoring future healthcare professionals. As President of the Emergency Care Society of Uganda, Prisca M. Kizito leads initiatives advocating for quality emergency care and capacity development across various healthcare cadres. Academic qualifications include a Master of Medicine in Emergency Medicine from Mbarara University of Science and Technology, a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Makerere University College of Health Sciences.
