Stina Aava currently serves as the Deputy Head of Mission at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, a position held since August 2021, focusing on consular affairs. Previous experience includes serving as a Desk Officer for Hungary and Poland, and working as Foreign Editor at Postimees Grupp, where Stina covered East and Central European news. Stina's early career features internships at the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies, where research centered on the Russo-Georgian wars and recognition issues regarding Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as well as internships at the Office of the President of the Republic of Estonia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia. Stina holds a Master of Philosophy in Russian and East European Studies from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Tartu, complemented by an Erasmus experience at the University of Wroclaw.
