Lionel Berthet is an experienced professional in hydrology and natural risk prevention, currently serving as the Sub-director for Hazard Knowledge and Risk Prevention at the Ministère de la transition écologique et solidaire since April 2019. Responsibilities include leading a 25-person sub-directorate, managing regional teams and technical expert teams, and designing public policies and regulations related to natural risk and hydraulic structures. Previously held positions include Head of the Technical Service for Electric Energy, Large Dams & Hydraulics, and Head of the hydrometry and low flow and flood forecasting service at DREAL Centre-Val de Loire.
