Brenda Best is currently the Director of Human Resources, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for the Milwaukee Brewers. Prior to their current position, they were the Director of Human Resources for the Sojourner Family Peace Center from July 2008 to May 2014. In their previous role, they were responsible for developing and administering policies and procedures to ensure the effective operation of the human resources function. This included functioning as a strategic HR business partner to senior leadership team, providing HR counsel and guidance on federal and state compliance, employee relations and strategic planning. Brenda also analyzed internal and external trends related to benefits, compensation and supervisor/employee development to determine needs and maintain a competitive position in the market. Additionally, they administered benefits and retirement programs and negotiated annual renewals. Best monitored trends and strategically applied procedures impacting hiring, retention and turnover to develop plans to attract and retain high functioning staff. Brenda also managed record keeping and overall regulatory compliance. Furthermore, Best administered the agency HRIS system (PeopleTrak) to collect data and prepare necessary reporting. Lastly, they were responsible for preparing data for all government reporting needs, including EEO and Veterans reporting. Best successfully executed on-boarding and overall employee well-being initiatives.

Brenda Best's educational career includes a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management from DeVry University, an Associate's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Madison Area Technical College, and two courses from the Center for Professional and Executive Development at the Wisconsin School of Business: Aligning Strategy for Organizational Growth and Building a Culture of Inclusion and Belonging.
