Remzi Sezgi̇n

He was born on September 11, 1943 in the Çay district of Afyonkarahisar. He completed his primary education at Çay Kurtuluş Primary School and his secondary education in Ankara. Having completed his higher education at Ankara Technical Higher Teachers' School, Sezgin worked as a technical staff in Kocaeli Public Works Directorate and in the construction of Kesikköprü dam.

He was appointed as a teacher and school principal at Bolvadin Yapı Vocational High School, which was put into service in 1965. He studied at Delft Technical University and Bouwcentrum in the Netherlands, where he went to postgraduate education in 1967 with the 'Council of Europe Scholarship'.

On his return home, he was appointed to Manisa Salihli Industrial Vocational High School Manager. During his years in Salihli, where he also served as the Director of the Evening Commerce High School, he enabled the opening of important facilities such as kindergarten, public library, and Evening Commerce High School in the district. Sezgin, who was appointed as the Branch Manager of the General Directorate of Technical Education for Boys in 1974, assumed the position of Assistant General Manager in 1978. He worked as the General Manager in the General Directorate of Construction Real Estate, which was established while he was working as the Head of the Vocational and Technical Education Construction Affairs Department, to which he was appointed in 1980. After this duty, which he continued until 1990, he was first appointed as the General Manager of Higher Education, Overseas Education and Foreign Relations, and then as the Education Counselor of the Bonn (Germany) Embassy.

During all these duties, especially in Japan, Germany, France, Belgium, England, Spain, Thailand, Portugal, Mexico, Ireland; Participating in many conferences, symposiums and seminars in many countries, especially on education, educational structures and facilities, Sezgin served as a lecturer in in-service training programs organized by the Ministry of National Education for the training of managers in central and provincial organizations.

Sezgin, who has contributed to the construction of thousands of educational facilities and put them into service during his duty, and who is a member of the OECD (International Organization for Development and Economic Cooperation) Educational Buildings Programme, realized the Korean Seoul Olympic Park Turkish Fountain, Bangladesh Atatürk High School and the Ministry of National Education Head Teacher Monument projects.

Sezgin, who speaks English, German and Dutch, continues his education services as a Member of the Board of Directors of the National Education Foundation, of which he is currently the President of the National Education Foundation.
