James Ryan is currently serving as the Deputy Solicitor General for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe since June 2022. Prior to this role, James held positions at Thomson Reuters as a Customer Success Representative-LMLF, providing training on efficient legal research for attorneys and legal professionals, and as a Reference Attorney II. James also completed a Legal Externship at Katun Corporation and worked as a Research Assistant at William Mitchell, where responsibilities included document review, preparing witnesses for depositions, conducting legal research, and attending trials. James holds a Juris Doctor degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacology/Toxicology from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.
