Jack Brandon is a professional engineer and project manager with experience in renewable energy projects. Jack'smost recent role as Senior Project Engineer at Mill Creek Renewables involves running the engineering and ordering of key equipment for utility scale solar and BESS projects. Prior to this, Brandon worked at Hitachi Energy as a Senior and Project Engineer, where they managed microgrid controls and BESS projects for the North American hub, and Allegheny Science & Technology as a Renewable Energy Systems Engineer, working on projects for the Army's Office of Energy Initiatives and the Air Force's Office of Energy Assurance. Jack also worked at Southern Current and Hannah Solar Government Services as Lead and Project Engineer, completing designs for MW capacity solar projects. Before that, they were part of the Leadership Development Program Application Engineering at Eaton, and worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at FREEDM Systems Center. Additionally, they had an Electrical Engineering Co-op placement at Duke Energy Corporation, where they worked with the Electrical Subject Matter Experts on fleet-wide issues and NERC Standards, and on the Project Engineering Team at Belew's Creek steam station.
Jack Brandon, PE, PMP obtained their diploma from Ledford Senior High School in 2008. Afterward, they attended North Carolina State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering in 2014. Jack continued to pursue their professional development by obtaining two Professional Engineer (PE) certifications from North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors in February 2019 and South Carolina State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors in March 2019. Jack also obtained a PV Installation Professional certification from NABCEP: North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners in December 2015 and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from Project Management Institute in August 2020. Most recently, they obtained a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (ICYB) certification from Hitachi ABB Power Grids in April 2021.
