Andrew J. Lappitt is a seasoned urban planner specializing in transportation, currently serving as Principal Planner for Middlesex County, NJ since September 2021. Lappitt manages key projects such as the NJTPA Subregional Transportation Program and the Southern Middlesex County Freight Movement Study. With previous experience as a Senior Planner at Sam Schwartz and a Planner at Michael Baker International, Lappitt has contributed to a range of studies, including bicycle and pedestrian plans, local concept development studies, and safety evaluations across various municipalities in New Jersey and Illinois. Lappitt holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University and a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning from Arizona State University. Additionally, Lappitt has experience in education as a percussion instructor and has held research positions focused on GIS and transportation planning.
