Mat Kanan is an experienced professional in athletic development and communications, currently serving as Assistant AD/Director of Athletic Annual Giving at Oregon State University Foundation since August 2014. Prior to this role, Mat held the position of Assistant AD for Development Communications & Administration. Mat's background includes significant experience at Western Michigan University as Director of Athletic Media Relations, overseeing social media education and brand enhancement for all sports from March 2007 to July 2014. Additionally, Mat worked as Associate Director of Athletic Communications at the University of Pennsylvania, managing communications for multiple sports, and began a career in project coordination at Qwest Communications, focusing on creating communications materials. Mat Kanan earned a Master's degree in Sports Management from Western Michigan University in 2009 and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism-Public Relations from Ohio University in 1997.
