Kyla L. Wright is a dedicated Doctoral Student at Michigan State University since August 2024, while also serving as a Producer at GBH since July 2020, where responsibilities include pitching ideas, editing audio for national podcast distribution, and managing social media efforts. Previously, Kyla worked as a Brand Journalist for Ilitch Companies from April 2022 to August 2024 and as a Communications Manager for the City of Detroit from July 2021 to January 2022, focusing on social media management and community engagement. Experience also includes a role as a Detroit Neighborhoods Reporter at the Detroit Free Press, a Graduate Assistant at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, and a communications intern at the National Institute of Aerospace. Kyla began the career journey as a Rhoden Fellow at ESPN and contributed to HerCampus as a writer and YouTuber. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Magazine, Newspaper, and Online Journalism from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Hampton University.
