Brian Philson serves as the President and CEO of Highfields, Inc. since August 2008 and holds the position of Board President-Elect for the ASWB, the nonprofit association of social work regulatory bodies in the U.S. and Canada, since October 2019. Additionally, Brian is an Adjunct Faculty member at Spring Arbor University and previously at Siena Heights University and Michigan State University, teaching Social Science and Criminal Justice courses. Brian has held significant roles in various organizations, including Board Chair for the Michigan Board of Social Work and a member of the Michigan Federation for Children and Families' Board of Directors. Brian's career began as Director of the Jackson County Youth Center, managing a juvenile detention facility. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Social Work from Michigan State University, a BA in Social Work from Spring Arbor University, and certifications in nonprofit executive leadership and major gifts from Indiana University. Brian is also a graduate of the Lansing Chamber of Commerce DEI Executive Roundtable program.
