Matthew Welch serves as the Regional Director at the Michigan SBDC, overseeing operations in the Northwest Region and working with a team to provide support to small businesses. Previously, Matthew held roles including COO at Vector Center, Principal at Crece Partners Inc., and Director of Operations at Circle of Blue, where responsibilities included business development and stakeholder engagement focused on sustainability and corporate responsibility. Matthew also has experience in international business development with Portapure and partnership strategy with Future of Fish. Earlier roles included Sustainable Business Development Manager at the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy and a Small Business Development Volunteer with the Peace Corps in Peru. Educational credentials include an MBA in Sustainability Strategy and an M.S. in Sustainable Systems from the University of Michigan, alongside a BA in International Studies from DePaul University.
