Paul Sargeant has extensive experience in various leadership roles within the commercial and engineering sectors. Paul most recently served as CEO - Designate at Michell Bearings starting from June 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Commercial Director at BEL Valves from December 2019 to June 2023, where they supported the CEO in managing the business and was responsible for commercial operations, sales, projects, and finance. Before that, they worked as a Commercial Manager at BEL Valves from December 2017 to December 2019, where they led the Global Internal Sales Team and was accountable for delivering bids and analyzing costs. Paul also served as a Commercial Manager at GE Wellstream from October 2013 to November 2017, where they led the ROW team in producing winning bids and strategic initiatives. Additionally, Paul has experience as a Sales and Proposals Engineer at Joy Global from June 2008 to February 2013, where they corresponded with customers and facilitated technical solutions. Paul began their career at Black & Decker as a Design and Project Engineer from October 2004 to June 2008, after completing an apprenticeship from August 1998 to September 2004.

Paul Sargeant attended Haughton Comprehensive School for an unspecified period of time, earning no specific degree or field of study. Following their time at Haughton Comprehensive School, they enrolled at Darlington College of Technology from 1998 to 2000. During this period, they pursued a BTEC National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Later, they pursued higher education at the University of Northumbria at Newcastle from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
