Wayne Davis is currently a Council Member at Miami Valley Communications Council, but they have held many other positions in the past. From September 2011 to May 2012, Wayne Davis was the Acting City Manager for the City of Montgomery. In this role, they ensured continuity of operations and strategic direction following the retirement of the City’s long-term City Manager. Wayne was also responsible for managing and expanding relationships with staff, vendors and the public during this period.
Some of the major milestones Wayne achieved as Acting City Manager include ensuring continuity of operations and support for City Council, City Staff, Law Director, vendors and our customers; presentation of the City’s 2012 Operating and Capital Budget with reductions of $88,000 from the initial budget submittal; initiation of the implementation steps in the City’s 2011 – 2016 Strategic Plan; management of the outcomes of several significant personnel transitions; maintainance and management of the legislative agenda for City Council; prepared and issued a Budget White Paper; co-delivered a presentation with the Fire Chief on Shared Services for the First Suburbs Consortium; conducted Business Calling visits with executives at each of the city’s major employers; worked collaboratively with Sycamore Schools in the pursuit of shared services opportunities; accepted appointment to the Sycamore School Superintendent’s Executive Advisory Board; developed a strategic plan for negotiations with the International Association of Fire Fighters in 2012; met with two developers on two different development projects in the city
Wayne Davis has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Vermont and a Masters of Urban Affairs in Public Administration from Wright State University. Wayne is also a graduate of the (LEAD) Program at the Commonwealth Center for High Performance Organizations at the University of Virginia and the United States Air Force Budget Officers School at Sheppard AFB, Texas.
