Barbara Pena is an experienced medical professional serving as the Research Director for the Emergency Department at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. With a career at Miami Children's Health System since July 2001, Barbara has held multiple roles including Medical Media Specialist for print, radio, and television, Chairwoman of the Scholarship Oversight Committee, and Attending Physician. Additionally, Barbara has been the Course Director for the Advanced Pediatric Life Support Course since January 2005. Prior experience includes fellowship and residency in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at Children's Hospital Boston from July 1995 to July 2001. Barbara's academic credentials include an MD from Yale School of Medicine, an MPH in Clinical Effectiveness from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and a BA in Psychology from Vassar College.
