Alan McDonald, PE, is a seasoned civil engineer with extensive experience in construction and project management, currently serving as a Civil Engineer Construction, Project Manager, and Construction & Engineering Project Coordinator at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority since November 2019. Prior to this role, Alan worked as a Capital Projects Management Coordinator for Arlington County, and as an Aviation Civil Engineer and Project Manager at RS&H. Additional experience includes positions at HNTB as a Civil Engineer (Aviation), QC Office Engineer, and Aviation Environmental Planner/Transportation Engineer in Training. Alan's career began with an Environmental Analyst role at Metron Aviation, followed by research at Virginia Tech as a Graduate Researcher and an internship at ATCS, P.L.C. Alan's foundational experience also includes work as an Engineer Technician I with Fairfax County Government.
