Martina Nelson is an experienced professional in the field of industrial waste management and pollution prevention. Currently serving as Manager of Industrial Waste & Pollution Prevention at the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities since September 2021, Martina leads a team of pretreatment experts dedicated to safeguarding wastewater treatment facilities and the surrounding environment. Prior to this role, Martina worked for the Metropolitan Council as Assistant Manager for Industrial Waste in Revenue & Data Management from September 1999 to September 2021, focusing on IT project management and business analysis. Martina's career began as a Staff Engineer at Braun Intertec Corporation in 1999. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
