Renée Filiatrault

Renée Filiatrault has served three ministers of national defence for Canada. From 2009-2010 she served as a foreign service officer in Afghanistan with Task Force Kandahar. Renée is a regular commentator on defence and security matters and has appeared on CBC’s The National, Power & Politics, The Current, and CTV’s The National and Question Period. Renée holds an Honours degree in Political Science from McMaster University and is accredited with Information Operations Battlefield Officer training with the Canadian Forces. Renée sits on the Advisory Board for the Network for Strategic Analysis, and is a Fellow with the Canadian Global Affairs Institute. Renée has received the Operational Service Medal for South-West Asia, the General Service Medal for Afghanistan and was awarded the Commander Joint Task Force Afghanistan Commendation while in theatre.
