Abby Turano has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Abby is currently serving as the Vice President of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs at Metro Atlanta Chamber starting from December 2022. Prior to this, they held various roles at the Georgia Department of Economic Development, including Deputy Commissioner for Marketing, Communications, and International Engagement from March 2020 to December 2022. Before that, they were the Deputy Commissioner for International Relations and Chief of Protocol from February 2017 to March 2020, and the Chief of Protocol from May 2012 to March 2020. Abby also worked as an Account Manager in Marketing and Communications at the Georgia Department of Economic Development from June 2008 to May 2012. Starting from March 2006 to June 2008, they served as a Speechwriter for the State of Georgia and prior to that, they were the Proclamations Director from March 2005 to March 2006.
Abby Turano holds a B.A. degree in International Political Science, with a focus on French language and a minor in Business. Abby obtained this degree from Tulane University. Additionally, Abby holds an M.S. degree in International Affairs from Georgia Institute of Technology.
