Monika Balfanz is an experienced educator and linguist with a strong background in English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction and adult education. Currently serving as a Remote Scorer for Pearson since March 2024, Monika also holds the position of ESL Teacher with Virginia Beach City Public Schools since May 2015. Additional roles include English Analytic Linguist at Metlang and Activity Coordinating Assistant Leader with Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation. Monika has delivered instruction as an Adjunct Instructor in ESL at Old Dominion University and provided support as a Graduate Distance Learning Teaching Assistant. Monika's academic achievements include a Master of Applied Linguistics with a focus on Sociolinguistics and TESOL certification, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature, both from Old Dominion University.
