Andrew Shafer is a software engineer at METECS since August 2020, with a background that includes extensive experience in brewing and military service. Prior to this role, Andrew served as Lead Shift Brewer at Saint Arnold Brewing Company from March 2015 to July 2020, where responsibilities included supervising and mentoring a team in the production of over 60,000 barrels of beer and cider annually, as well as developing and maintaining over 100 Standard Operating Procedures. Andrew’s earlier military experience included serving as a Nuclear Submarine Officer in the US Navy, with roles such as Imaging Action Officer at Commander, Submarine Development Squadron Twelve, and duties on the USS COLUMBUS. Andrew holds a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completed in 2008.
