Rachad Alao is an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in artificial intelligence and multimedia technologies. Currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering at Meta since June 2024, Rachad previously held the same title at Google from January 2022 to June 2024, where responsibilities included leading Responsible AI efforts and overseeing Google Maps user-generated content. Rachad's earlier positions at Meta included Engineering Director focused on Responsible AI initiatives. Prior experience encompasses various roles at Google, including leading the Android Multimedia team, and significant tenure at Bluestreak Technology, where Rachad served in multiple executive roles, including Chief Technology Officer. Rachad's career began at OpenTV as a Software Architect, following education at Télécom Paris where a Master's degree in Telecommunications and Computer Architecture was earned.
