Luz Elena Gonzalez is a skilled public policy professional with extensive experience in the Latin American region. Currently serving as a Public Policy Operations Associate at Meta since September 2024, Luz Elena previously held the role of Projects and Communications Leader at PIT Policy Lab, where notable achievements included securing CAD 80,000 in funding for a project focusing on gender perspectives in AI and managing a consultancy for the Colombian State Data Infrastructure Governance Model. Luz Elena has also contributed to academic settings as a professor at PrepaTec Guadalajara, teaching International Relations, and has gained valuable experience through internships and consulting positions with various organizations, including the Institute for Urban Planning of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area and Latin American Capital. Luz Elena holds a Bachelor in Arts in International Relations and a Minor in International Development Cooperation from Tecnológico de Monterrey, as well as participation in the Global Competitiveness Leadership Program at Georgetown University.
