Khia Johnson, PhD, is a Senior UX Research Scientist at Meta's Reality Labs Research Audio since July 2022, having previously served as a UX Research Scientist in the same division. Prior to joining Meta, Khia held the position of UX Researcher III with Aditi Consulting, working on-site at Meta. Khia earned a PhD in Linguistics from The University of British Columbia, where significant contributions included developing a bilingual speech dataset, analyzing acoustic phonetic data, and co-authoring multiple academic papers. Additional experience includes roles as a research assistant and teaching assistant at the university level, alongside a background in Spanish education and administrative roles at the K-12 level. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Washington.
