Phil Slater has a diverse work experience in various roles. Phil is currently working as a Campaign Engineer at MessageGears since August 2022. Prior to this, they founded their own company called pslate customs LLC in 2018, where they worked as a Software Developer. Phil also has experience as a Full-Stack Web Development Student at DigitalCrafts from December 2021 to April 2022, where they studied Python and full-stack JavaScript. Additionally, they worked as a Professor of Music at Southern University and A&M College- Baton Rouge from August 2016 to May 2018, where they taught private lessons to undergraduate music majors on low brass instruments.

Phil Slater completed a Certificate in Software Development from DigitalCrafts in 2021-2022. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Music degree in Brass Performance from Louisiana State University from 2014 to 2016. Phil's undergraduate education took place at The University of Akron, where they earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Brass Performance from 2010 to 2014.
