Melissa L. Bean

Melissa Bean is President and CEO of Mesirow Wealth Management. In this capacity, she is responsible for the development and delivery of strategic initiatives that drive the growth of our wealth management business. This includes focusing on a broad range of strategic, operational and financial issues resulting in our clients achieving their best possible outcomes. As a member of the Mesirow Board of Directors, she contributes to developing and overseeing the strategic direction of the firm.

Previous to joining Mesirow in 2019, Melissa was Vice Chairman and Chairman, Midwest, for JPMorgan Chase, serving as Senior Market Executive across all lines of business (Commercial Bank, Investment Bank, Asset Wealth Management and Consumer Bank), strengthening client and community relationships, brand building and assisting with government relations in the Midwest and DC. She has also led the Executives’ Club of Chicago as President and CEO and served three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she was known as a “go to” non-partisan leader for practical policy solutions. She represented Illinois' Eighth District of Illinois in the House from 2005 through 2011, serving as a leader on the House Financial Services and Small Business Committees. She was vice chair of the NDC, a pro-growth coalition committed to trade promotion, global competitiveness, and STEM education.

Melissa has been active on local boards to promote inclusive growth and opportunity across all neighborhoods of Chicago. She serves on the boards of One Million Degrees, Junior Achievement and World Business Chicago and is a member of The Commercial Club, The Executives Club and The Economic Club. She regularly keynotes at business, academic and client conferences and has been included in Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2018 and 2015 List of Chicago’s 25 Most Powerful Women in Business and Make it Better Magazine’s 2017 and 2018 List of Chicago’s 25 Most Influential Women.

Melissa earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and her DHL, Honoris Causa, from Roosevelt University.
