Michael Hast, PhD, currently serves as the Director of Medical Affairs Scientific Strategy at Merz Therapeutics, a position held since March 2018, where responsibilities include the development and implementation of innovative Medical Affairs initiatives and oversight of the Medical Information function. Prior to this, Michael held several roles at Merz North America, including Associate Director of Medical Affairs Scientific Strategy and Medical Science Liaison in Neurosciences. Experience also includes a position at MedThink SciCom as a Senior Medical Writer, and a research role at Duke University Medical Center, where Michael utilized X-ray crystallography to study protein structures and their complexes. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biochemistry from Duke University and a BS in Biochemistry from North Carolina State University.
