Alex Stephens has over a decade of experience in local government, currently serving as a Cabinet Policy Officer at Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council since January 2011. In this role, Alex provides high-quality support and policy advice to the Leader of the Council and the Cabinet while managing the mayoral team and overseeing civic activities. Alex has held various positions, including Project Officer for the SuNSE project, Community Grant Co-ordinator for Ffos y Fran, Triage for Communities for Work, Project Manager for Vibrant and Viable Places, and Heritage Development Officer, focusing on local heritage and tourism development. Prior experience includes roles as an Administration Officer at Powys County Council, Temporary Library Assistant at the University of Glamorgan, and Key Account Executive at AmniTec Ltd. Alex holds a BA in History from the University of South Wales.
