Z Yao has a diverse work experience with various roles in different companies. From 2015 onwards, Z Yao worked as a Project Manager at Datasite, where they focused on maximizing product experience and client engagement in global mergers, acquisitions, and other capital transactions. Before that, from 2013 to 2015, Z Yao was a Marketing Manager at Cavendish Group International Ltd, responsible for marketing strategy, audience analysis, business development in China, conference building, and sales-driven marketing plans. From 2007 to 2012, Z Yao worked as a Global Shareholder Analyst at DF King Worldwide. Additionally, in 2006, Z Yao worked as a Business Analyst at Great Place to Work.
Z Yao obtained a BSc in Investment Finance & Risk Management from Cass Business School, where they studied from 2002 to 2005. Following this, they pursued an MSc in Finance at Imperial College London from 2005 to 2006. In addition to their formal education, Z Yao has obtained several certifications from LinkedIn, including courses on time management, customer service, decision-making, and leadership, among others.
