Sonal Bhakta, MD, MPH, FACP, currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer and Hospitalist at Mercy since September 2011, with additional responsibilities as Hospitalist Medical Director. Concurrently, Sonal Bhakta holds a position as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) since June 2016, after completing a residency at UAMS from July 2008 to June 2011. Sonal Bhakta earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) from UAMS, both completed in 2008. Earlier academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biology from Southern Methodist University.
