Gilbert Walter is a board member at MERCY SHIPS. Prior to that, they worked as an administrator at La Chaudronnée from June 2013 to June 2016, where they were responsible for developing and ensuring the safety of food-related activities that promoted social development and poverty alleviation. They also worked as an administrator at CDC - corporation de développement communautaire de Lévis from June 2011 to June 2013, where they were responsible for the administration of the CDC. Gilbert also has experience working in the food industry, as they were a coordinator at Café la Mosaïque from June 2009 to September 2021, where they developed the business plan and sought out funding for the café. Gilbert began their career as a coordinator for Voyage Tour Étudiant from January 2006 to December 2008.

Gilbert Walter attended Sentier du coeur inc for their Aec design infographique in Infographie. Gilbert then went to Collège LaSalle, Montréal for their Two year certificate in Theology. Lastly, they completed their Certificat en étude musicale at Université Laval.
