Viet Nguyen is a Senior Scientist at Merck, specializing in discovery process chemistry since June 2023. Prior experience includes a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at San Antonio from August 2018 to June 2023, where responsibilities included designing organic syntheses, managing laboratory equipment, overseeing the chemical inventory, and training new lab members. Viet also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, instructing undergraduate students in organic chemistry laboratory techniques. Earlier, Viet was a Postgraduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at San Antonio's Larionov Lab from June 2017 to June 2018, focusing on synthesizing organic compounds and conducting kinetic studies. Viet holds a PhD in Chemistry from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Bach Khoa University.
